In order to determine the resistance of the bituminous mixture in a flexible pavement, it is indisputable that the interference of the requests that the pavement suffers during the period of life that it is in service, and the climatic conditions, must be taken into account. The use of bituminous binder in road paving is what revolutionized the road sector and this mareial is predominantly used in road construction worldwide. Although this is the material most used in the road sector, great care must be taken when applying it, as the greater the amount of binder in a bituminous mixture, the lower the resistance of the mixture itself and the and the smaller the amount of bituminous binder in a bituminous mixture, the greater the segregation of the aggregates in the mixture, which leaves it with low resistance. At the end of the work, I try to present the results obtained in the characterization of the bituminous mixture and its resitance, in a flexible pavement.Esta pesquisa tem como objectivo primordial, avaliar a resistência da mistura betuminosa aplicada no pavimento da estrada nacional número 1, onde é essencial e necessário se fazer uma breve comparação dos tipos de pavimentos, bem como os tipos de misturas betuminosas aplicados em pavimentos. Para a determinação da resistência da mistura betuminosa num pavimento flexível é indiscutível ter que se atender á interferência das solicitacões que o pavimento sofre ao longo do período de vida que esta em serviço, e das condições climáticas. A utilização do ligante betuminoso na pavimentação de estradas é o que revolucionou o sector de vias de comunicação e esse material é predominantemente utilizado na construção de estradas á nivel mundial. Embora seja esse o material mais utilizado no sector de estradas, há que se ter bastante atenção na sua aplicação, pois quanto maior for a quantidade do ligante numa mistura betuminosa, menor é a resistência da própria mistura e quanto menor for a quantidade do ligante betuminosa numa mistura betuminosa, maior será a segregação dos agregados na mistura, o que deixa-a com baixa resistência.
