Documento AGRICULTURAL RESIDUAL BIOMASS HEAT POTENTIAL ASSESSMENT: A CONTRIBUTION TO THE AGRICULTURAL SOLID WASTE (ASW) ENERGY VALUATION(2025) Boane, Alberto Arnaldo; Monjane. A.A.R; Dias, A.J.GuernerAbout 63.5% of 31 million Moz ambican dwellers, live in rural areas and rely on agriculture and livestock. These activities generat e large amounts of potentially polluting waste and energy. In order to contribute to the reduction of the environmental impact of this waste, its calorific potential for possible energy use was analyzed. Based on non-probabilistic sampling, samples of peanut pod, bean plant and corn kernel were collected. The physical characterization consisted of the determination of Volatile matter, Ashes and Fix ed Carbon by thermogravimetry/oven (T = 550-900o C); chemical analysis to determine the elemental composition by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM/EDS) and energy analysis to determine t he High Calorific Power (HHP) by Calorimeter. Physical analysis revealed the following results: Peanut capsule (70.88%; 4.26% and 25.28%); Corn kernel (70.01%; 7.22%; 22.78% ) and Beanstalk (29.35%; 64.83%; 8.83% ), respectively. Chemical analysis revealed the presence of the following elements: Calcium (Ca), Magnesium (Mg), Sodium (Na), Silicon (Si), Carbon (C), and Oxygen (O) in significant mass and EPTs in trace amounts. HHP analysis revealed the following results: peanut capsule (19342 J/g); corn kernel (14877 J/g) and bean plant (5559 J/ g).
